OUR STORY
The Land of Love Association opened its doors after our daughter, Maria, (21/11/1988) who is diagnosed with Rett Syndrome suffered a lot of misery. The delay started two years after she was born and it was extremely tough to find specialized centers which can improve and care for the abilities of the severely handicapped with hard and rare disabilities.
Therefore, we moved in the direction of studying up in field, practical training and volunteering until we were able to open an association with detailed specifications that only had one main principle, Love and Give, especially to those who can’t find a place.
Land of Love Association carries the message of a Mother and Father who put their hearts to helps their daughter and the children of others and be the source of joy for their families.

ARTS
Through fine arts the students are able to express their thoughts and feelings as they transform raw materials into majestic forms. Under the supervision of Dr. Nadia El-Arabi, a recipient of the PhD for art therapy, the students started composing 3D models using an array of materials such as paper and starch.
Drawing is the language which the students express their feelings, fears and thoughts with. Therefore, it is an essential tool for communication and dialogue. It is very important to train the students in drawing as it can showcase their creative energies and improve on their imaginative and observation skills through brush and paper.
The Association utilized Art Khanna Art Team to teach the students fine art and to improve their drawing skills.
The students also learn how to create accessories through the application of recycled materials in order to showcase them and sell them through exhibitions. The students also enter competitions where they won several merits and rewards.

THEATER AND PRODUCTIONS
The parties are divided into external and e=internal productions. The internal parties are represented in national and religious occasions, birthdays, and appreciations for achievements in sports and artistic fields. An enjoyable program is created by the teachers with the aid of specialist from different fields. These parties are attended by the students, some friends and the parents.
The external productions aim to delight the students, enable them to acquire new skills, and improve their self confidence and it serves a platform to increase awareness in community about the abelites of our students.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Computer technology has become the lifeline of the local and global life. The computer is the most important tool in the toolbox for the rehabilitation of our students with special needs. The computer is the device which complements the teaching process in useful manner. The computer lowers the burden on both the student and the teacher. It does not give any humanitarian reactions or feelings which is perfect for our students’ needs. Therefore, the computer is a means of help for what it contains in the form of multiple programs which include excitements and attention grabbing. All of this is used in educational manner and in linguistical sessions and not just for entertainment. Therefore, the teachers choose the most suitable programs and educational games which the students will learn most from and aid them in achieving their potential.

SCOUTS
The origins of Land of Love Association – Sphinx Scouts Date back to January, 2010. The formation came after the request of one of the children of the Association to create a scout’s team for the Association. Captain Akram Nabil and his assistants from the Sphinx were appointed to establish a scout team and coordinate with the Association. The activity started with a special approach that was chosen to suit the participants' abilities.
Since this time, the Sphinx Group conducts a weekly meeting in which members are trained on various scouting skills and technical works with the emphasis on the development of communication and cognitive skills.
REHABILITATION
Rehabilitation programs begin as follows:

The activities are preformed until the trainee specializes in a particular craft that suits them as in that it suits their abilities and be enjoyable for them to work in.
Second Stage
After the allocation of a particular trainee in their preferred field, begins the specialized training phase and at the end of this stage the trainee is able to accomplish the required work without assistance by graduating from full physical assistance to partial to verbal to full independence. The second stage cannot have a set period for every trainee as it differs based on abilities.
Work and Production Stage
This stage starts from where the previous stage ended, which was to achieve independence. Here the trainee accomplishes what is required of him on time and starts to receive a wage according to the achievement and the tasks required of accomplishment.
